Stunning sunset over Kuching, the capital of Sarawak
A picture says more than a 1000 words. From time to time, MALAYSIA INSIGHTS therefore will introduce photographers and websites with quality photos taken in Malaysia. The first in our new series PICTURE MALAYSIA is the website worldwideavailability.wordpress.com.
The blogger is an American diplomat living in Kuala Lumpur. Originally from China, he immigrated to the US and became a naturalized citizen. Working for the U.S. Department of State, he was sent to Kuala Lumpur in 2013 to work with the Malaysian government and civil society on a range of bilateral engagements. In his spare time, he likes to take photographs with his Nikon D7100 which he publishes on his personal blog. “Readers are my family, friends, colleagues, and anybody who happens to stumble upon it”, he says. “In terms of taking photos I am a complete amateur. It’s been a hobby of mine for the past few years.” As for post editing, he doesn’t do much; “just simple cropping and optimizing colors, a minute or 2 on each photo”, he says.
Another hobby of his is traveling, “after all, one of the best things about living in Malaysia is the ease of traveling all over Asia.” Therefore his website does not only showcase some great shots of Malaysia but also pictures taken in China, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand.
We are pleased to present you a small collection of the artists’ work. Click on any picture to enlarge it and check out his website to see his complete output.
